The third annual MoLAA Awards 08 is an invitational juried art competition and exhibition. It has become the museum’s signature event inviting mid-career and emerging artists from 20 Latin American countries to share their art with our audience. This spirited competition seeks museum quality works of art to represent the best of Latin America. All participating works of art will be on view in the museum’s Main Exhibition Gallery from September 21 to October 19, 2008.
A panel of judges from the field of contemporary Latin American art will select 5 artists for artistic merit with prize monies of $40,000. The award winning works of art will become a part of the MoLAA Permanent Collection; all other works will be placed for bid during Auction 08. The proceeds from the sales benefit MoLAA’ ongoing exhibition, collection and educational programs.
